The Company Level Final of the NTPC Global Management Challenge (GMC) was conducted on 9th February, 2024, through the virtual mode in association with the International Organizing Committee for Global Management Challenge.

The results of the Company Finals were announced by Sh. D. K. Patel, Director (HR), who congratulated all the eight teams who had qualified for the Company Level Finals. He informed the participants that such Competitions are an integral part of NTPC’s HR strategy to develop its human resources and building our own timber. He shared with the participants that the business simulation games in the form of GMC are more effective than other forms of learning because of its wide coverage, unique delivery and swift learning capability. He encouraged the participants to keep participating as such Competitions contribute towards the enhancement of the strategic thinking & decision-making competencies of our executives by exposing them to simulated real life business situations – an aspect which would help them as they rise up in their careers and when they would be required to take critical business decisions. He stated that NTPC’s commitment towards the continuous refinement of its HR practices (in order to meet business needs and provide a conducive ecosystem for Employees to grow) is reflected through the various international and national awards received by NTPC in the field of HR.

Sh. C Kumar, ED(HR), was also present on the occasion and congratulated the Participants of various Teams for their participation in the Competition. He expressed his satisfaction with the high level of participation of Executives in this year’s Competition.

Team from Vallur emerged as Company Level Winner with team from NSPCL-Durgapur securing the second place in this year’s competition. The Eight Teams who participated in the Company Finals of the NTPC Global Management Challenge will represent NTPC and participate in the GMC India – National Finals scheduled to be held in April 2024.

Global Management Challenge is the world’s largest strategy and management competition based on a highly advanced business enterprise simulation. More than 30000 participants from more than 30 countries around the world take part in the competition every year. The Competition consists of an interactive business simulation in which each team manages a company in order to obtain the best investment performance for their company in the market in which it operates.
